The whole ensemble makes me want to dance like John Travolta then get in a cab and have Cosmopolitans. It's perfect.

I spotted this top earlier this month in a Florida thrift store between my salon, Blades Hair, and the neighborhood wine superstore. Ten dollars later I was on a flight back to sub-zero temperatures, and sure I would have to wait for a back borough band performance off the L train in early spring to take her out of my closet. But the cold facts are that I’ve completely exhausted my drab winter wardrobe, and it doesn’t seem to be getting warmer any time soon.
Wearing this outfit to work, I was afraid the disco-ball effect (this shirt is seriously reflective) would be a little bold for a Thursday morning. Sure I got a lot of “Ooohh…that’s so…cute?” But overall it seems my co-workers have an appreciation for lite shoulderpads and originals from yesteryear. I took this photo on the way to lunch. I think most passersby were open to a little sparkle in their day, and I even winked at those trench coat twins in the background to complete the look. Happy hour uptown was also well received. Why wear an unfortunate pant suit poofy shirt sweater vest combo (true story—I saw this outfit) when you can sip a cocktail in style?
I’m also thinking about pairing her with a high-waisted pencil skirt and opaque tights, or over a fitted dress. It says I appreciate Cher’s greatest hits, this is a one-of-a-kind find, and I might go dancing later—all at the same time. So the next time you’re standing in front of a closet of black and gray, consider mixing up an ordinary weekday with a vintage gem like this one.

I like anything that is shiny ... boys tend to get confused when they see shiny things...that works for me. The butterfly adds a nice little flair to the sequins.

"It says I like Cher's Greatest Hits." Best part of a sentence ever.

I might steal this shirt from you if I see you on the L! I think the way you're wearing it in the photo is the best way. Maybe switch it up with some 70's wide-legged flares that cover your shoes. This shirt is serioulsy amazing though.

I don't think I'm ready for full-on top, but this does make me want to dig up some of my old sequin headbands from my box of dance recital costumes. Just for a little flavor.

you're looking fab! so much better than the black / grey / brown / winterness we are all drowning in.
