Want to Wear: Danilo Gabrielli F/W 12
A few weeks ago, in the midst of NYFW i attended Nolcha Fashion Week, which is a series of runway shows dedicated to showcasing independent designers. I was most excited to see Danilo Gabrielli’s F/W 2012 collection, as I so loved his S/S 2012 collection I saw at last season’s Nolcha. This time, the collection was so classic and accessible, leading with strong shapes and just the right amount of feminine frill.
among my favorites were these satin blouses in black and cream, with the most delicate tiers of sheer chiffon on the shoulders and a mock neck, plus a contrasting bow. i’ve never seen a mock turtleneck look so good. i could immediately imagine these being perfect with something as simple as boyfriend jeans and my patent Zara pumps, but the possibilities to dress up are seriously endless.
my favorite feminine dress, was the perfect black sparkly maxi, with its deep-v cut and sexy slit, juxtaposed against a cute-as-a-button high bow, making it sultry and sweet and perfect for a fancy event. now… without further adieu — the showstopper, seen up top, was this brocade and sequined mackintosh coat.
Now here’s the reason why I love this mac so so so much – I’ve yet to see a combination of this fabric and sequin implemented in anything other than something that ultimately looks quite teeny-bopper. not this, though, it’s simply stunning, classically cut and by far my favorite piece from the entire collection. Check out the entire lineup here. and more pictures of my favorites on my personal style blog JaimenLee.com here. xoxo.
