I was super excited to attend SCOTLAND RE:DESIGNED an event in meatpacking which housed a ton of established and up-and-coming designers from Scotland. I found a few in particular that caught my eye and I wanted to share a favorite piece form each.
The first, is Bebaroque, which makes decorative hosiery and bodywear. I adore this pale pink body suit encrusted with the baubles feminine dreams are made of. They carry the same design in a mini dress and in other colors. They also make sheer stockings and socks with elaborate designs, hand embroidery and jewels.
Next, Caerlee, a brand made in Scotland utilizing lots of cashmere and intarsia runs the oldest continually operating textile mill in the country and beyond its own label, produces products for the likes of Chanel and Thom Browne so you know their pieces are quality. I love the fun patterned sweaters juxtaposed against the richest fabrics and I just love, love this sweater.
Lastly, Henrietta Ludgate, quite possibly the coolest cat in all of Scotland. Check out the chic structural shape of her dress on the far right. I spoke with Ludgate, who was fabulous and touted her line’s minimalist silhouette and luxurious fabrics. Ludgate’s dresses have appeared in Vogue’s Green Carpet Challenge and she’s dresses everyone from the Queen to Michelle Obama!
Hope you love seeing the pieces and I encourage you to check out the designers’ lines via their sites! check out this and many more personal style posts on my blog here www.jaimenlee.com.
