Well the Accessories Report on Brooches was a pretty good. I liked the ideas and suggestions. I wear them every once in awhile. I think I dont wear them much because, they leave those two hideous hole in my sweater/top at the end of the day! do you wear them and with what?

re: eboneyowens
I LOVE the star brooch but it's out of my price range. I have one but i rarely wear it. If I had some snazzy brooches I definitely would with sweaters or on my trench.

I've found some wonderful brooches at antique shops for VERY cheap prices. I am actually planning on turning one that I bought recently into a hair pin to wear for my wedding...its still a long way away...but when I saw the brooch (and the price, $8!!), I couldn't pass it up!

Awesome idea! I've been wanting to hit up antique shops sometime. I'll have to get my mom and take her, she loves antiques.

re: dazzlin
You could use one as a belt buckle...
I have this neat belt with a butterfly as the buckle, and the belt is turquoise elastic! Soooo...I'm thinking you could get some fun-colored elastics, and use the brooch as a fastener.
Then there's always the usual ways, put it on a sweater or jacket. Or of course the old scarf/hanky look.

re: eboneyowens
I haven't really seen any brooches worth buying, but I am loving all the attention on accessories now like belts and jewelry.

Funny, I just recently blogged about 5 ways to wear a brooch. I have been hearing about the belt buckle usage...that was something new to me. It just has to be sturdy, I suppose...

Hmmm...I can't decide if I like them or not. I always think I might look too much like an old lady. But others wear them and look modern. I do see a lot of nice things in antique shops, though. A local dealer specializes in Victorian era jewelry and purses...there is an awesome leather purse from 1898 but it's teeny-tiny and almost $300. The brooches are more reasonable, from $6 to $18...I have been many times to look but an still up in the air...

alya you ahould start with a small one. I think the pic you submitted for the anne klein contest could of had a small brooche worked in. I mean your look is great! It is just that your style, and outfit that day was a good example of what I think brooches look good with.

i am not much of a brooch person. I would rather go for bracelets. I have a large collection of bracelets and sport them every often.

I BOUGHT SOME A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN THEY WERE EVERYWHERE. YOU CAN USE THEM ON A SCARF THAT YOU USE AS A BELT, ATTACH ON THE KNOT. YOU CAN ALSO PUT THEM ON YOUR PURSE OR TOTE. I USED A SPARKLY TURQUOISE DRAGONFLY ONE ON A PRINTED CANVAS PURSE.
