So recently I have discovered I am almost impossible to please when I shop. Specifically, I have been looking everywhere I can think of for a couple pairs of boots: basic black and a flat or riding style tan.
Now if money wasn't an issue I'd be all set! But I'm sure you can all relate to the fact that I can't spend $500 on a pair of boots.
And basically...I have found NOTHING I would buy. Not a thing! How is this possible? Out of all the department stores, specialty shoe shops, even piperlime.com, I won't commit to a single pair! I think I am just too picky. Too picky about the heel size and height, the stitching, the material, etc. Or maybe I just have expensive taste.
Does anybody else drive themselves insane with this?

MEEEEEEEEE!!!!! I have drove myself insane with my boot delima. I see great looking boots in mags, and on others. If money wasnt an issue then it would be another story. but that isnt the story the story goes: "So many boots not enough dough, so no go"
When I try them on they look strange, or my calf is too small, etc, etc...........
That is why I am asking for them as a gift this year!! maybe what someone else thinks would look good on me would help me out, you know??

re: eboneyowens
Ummm me totally!!! I ended up giving in last year and getting a cheapo pair of tall black boots...and they are looking like crap now. I wished I would have held out a bit or something, especially since I didn't love them. So, when I tried to not be picky, it worked against me. Go figure!
I got lucky with my brown Dr. Scholl's boots and my flat Gabriella Rocha boots. I am wanting the latter in black this year...might as well get as style I know will work! I got both of those at Zappos, so if you haven't checked there yet, you should!
I agree completely though, so many different styles! The ones in my price range all have something off, whether it be the heel hight or width, maybe some weird embellishments.
Then I see the perfect pair that are just calling my name...only to be utterly disappointed by the $500 price tag. Le sigh.

re: alyabonfiglio
You sound like me, I have been looking for a tan riding boots, and I saw yesterday one by hispanitas , but I am waiting for it to just go down a little bit. I normally buy my boots in europe, and because I use them almost everyday I spent a bit more on them, but if they are on sale I'm really happy. But yes the nice ones are always more expensive, I do not buy if it's not something I like.
Good luck on finding the boots. And check zappos like Bimbi said you might find something there.

i've wanted flat knee high boots for years now, and i'm impossible to please
part of my problem is that even when i find something i like in theory the fit is off- i'm a 8 1/2 size shoe, but i'm a tiny girl- so they never fit right in the calves- always way too big- so i can't ever have success, on the plus side, this led me to discover the world of ankle boots, i own like a bazillion pairs now!

I'm with you there. When it comes to shoes I am super picky. Sometimes though I'll splurge. That is if I have the money like at refund time for taxes.

re: alyabonfiglio
I totally agree with you ladies on this! I have been looking for black boots (look of Uggs) for a few weeks now and I can't find anything. I found the perfect pair at target, but they were only in brown. Then I looked everywhere else and couldn't find anything. I was going to splurge at shopbop, but nothing there either. My money is tight right now so I am on a budget, but still want great looking boots.

Hey Stef, you may wanna check online at Target.com for those. I was at my Target last night and saw those...they had them in black! You could try the brown ones on for sizing at the store and then order them in black online.

re: alyabonfiglio
I've looked on zappos.com - I think I really am just too picky! :)
I guess it's true you have to bite the bullet and blow some cash because trying to find the perfect pair on a budget is just not working. But honestly, I wouldn't mind spending even $200, and still nothing satisfies me. Then again, I know that if I wait long enough the perfect pair will emerge, and I'll actually be happy with buying them. So until then...I continue the search!

Buying shoes online is especially hard if you are picky...I just happened to get lucky. I guess I was more apt to take the risk with zappos because of the free shipping both ways. I knew I would get the shoes by the next day or two, and if they didn't work, back they went without a problem!
I wish you luck from the bottom of my heart alya. I know how much finding the perfect pair of boots means! LOL

So I decided to try a pair of black boots(Kenneth Cole) from Piperlime.com and they came today. Good thing about their free return policy...they're going right back. Someday!

Well here's the link to them on piperlime...I wrote a review expressing my displeasure, but they have yet to post it. Hahaha. I should have known when others complained but I figured I'd give them a fighting chance for the price.

OMG Alya!!! Those are the SAME EXACT black boots I have! The very ones I mentioned in this thread. I don't blame you at all for returning them. I was so desperate for a pair that I kept them to hold me over until I found a better pair...that was last year and I'm still searching!

Yo Alya! Nordstrom is doing a special on boots under $100!!
Check these out:

re: Bimbi284
Wow...yes! These are probably the closest to what I'm looking for. The shape of the toe is just right, and that's what I'm most picky about! Thanks so much! When I get a minute I'll have to browse around more. See, there are no Nordstrom's anywhere near where I live, so I forget about it...
You should offer a shoe finding service - helped me and Stef on the same thread, LoL! :)

LOL! Thanks! I'm glad I could help. If you get them, let me know what you think...I may have to get them myself! ...I am most picky about the toe too!

I often times find cute shoes online, but I am so picky about the fit that I never splurge online, I have to try them on.

re: stef42678
Stef, like I mentioned above: Target carries the boots you are looking for in black. You can go to your local store and try on the ones they have to see what size fits you best, and then see if they have that size online at their website in black nd order it from there.

re: Bimbi284
Stef, I believe the "bearpaw" are the ones you are looking for, since they are the closest to the Ugg style, and you mentioned that styke in another thread...here ya go! They have a few different kinds, based on how tall they are.
