I just spent over $100 on a Roxy swimsuit, but I love it. Has anyone else made any big splurges on fashion?

re: stef42678
I try to save the big splurges on very classic pieces. Beacauses of my profession, I tend to go a little trendier so I'm cafeful on what I go nuts on. But I will tell you that about 18 years ago (maybe even longer) I spent $95 on Black leather Handbag. I thought I must be crazy, that much on a bag at that time was alot! But, I still use it and is softer and still fashionable than ever!

Sounds like that bag was a great splurge! I try and splurge on things that I can use a lot too.

i spent $175 on a coat from Urban Outfitters a few years back, which is BIG for me since i'm such a thrifter, but there was just something about it.
i still wear it to this day + it's one of the pieces from my wardrobe i get the most people commenting on + asking where i got it.

What a great splurge! I sometimes wait and don't splurge and then by the time I go back for the item it is gone which can be frustrating. I tend to splurge on something I can wear over and over.

I went in a LV boutique when I was in Hawaii. I just walked around and dreamed :) There are some lovely handbags! Picking a classic style was wise-something you can use for years and with any kind of outfit.

I purchased a very classic St. John's knit dress for over $1K about 6 years ago. I work in the management/events sector, so this is perfect for high profile meetings and events. I have truly gotten my money's worth from it, and since it's such a classic design, it will serve me well for at least another 10 years or more! Paired with pearls, gold, and lovely flats - I get compliments every time. Investment fashion is the best bet in the long-run.

Wow that is a splurge, I don't think I would ever spend that much on a dress, but it sounds like it was worth it. I am glad you found something that you can wear so long and is perfect for your meetings.

the biggest i've splurged on a single item would probably be my vera wang princess perfume. it costs around $70 but its such a pretty scent :]. most of the time i just spend a little here and there at the mall and it gets to be a pretty high costs. but i love to shop!

re: stef42678
A splurge to one person may not be the same for another :) I tend to splurge on great fitting jeans and pants. Even buying on sale seems to cost a lot when you go for name brand items. Spending more seems worth it though when I find pants that look amazing and feel comfortable. A true splurge for me would be kind of like what heatheranne did-buying a fabulous coat. I love blazers, jackets, and coats. And also being a thrifter, it becomes hard to part with that much money. But when you get so many compliments and feel so good in it, it's worth it. Validates your choice :)

I bought an LV bag for $700. I'd wanted it for years and it kept going up in price. Finally, this year I bought it as a bday gift for myself. I've carried it everyday and love it! Yes it was expensive but for a great piece its worth the investment. My other big splurges are sunglasses. But in SoCal they're a must so may as well get some nice ones :)

I bought a pair of $400 Marc by Marc Jacobs open toed heels about 2 years ago and I still wear them almost every week! I love them because they go with everything and the leather is buttery soft. I have justified the price I paid for these because i have worn them well over 75 times and they still look new! Same goes for my Marc purse. I love his leather fashions! Timeless <3

also, I;ve splurged on a few Emilio Pucci tops, I grew up in the mid 60's and love his fabrics, kind of nostalgic, hopefully my daughter will want them someday
