Also I tried to enter and after the uploading not working had to go a second time, only to be told multiple entries are not allowed. But my entry is not there. :( I emailed so hopefully they will fix that...that happened to a lot of people last time, as I recall...

Yeah...that is a bit skewed. Especially since the contests are supposed to be about our OWN style...I would think that would require items that we actually own and wear, not stuff we put on for a photo shoot with help of stylists. I think they should have seperate contests for those types of entries, cuz there are some really good shots in those galleries.

I agree with YOU...but also have given up somewhat on demanding fairness. Hasn't happened at work, school, etc. I guess it's true what they say, Life's not fair. I mean I do this for fun and all but give us girls who don't get to attend those kind of events a fightin' chance!

Yeah, very true alya! They don't have any events near me, so I'm stuck with my own closet, my webcam, and bad lighting, lol.

what's up with some of the AK entries? I don't understand how they make sense....

I'm not really sure people understand the concept of the contest. Its not really clear. From what I understand, you're supposed to upload a pic inspired by one of the watches shown in the contest description...right?

thats what i thought but the entries are all over the place!

I dont understand how the anne klein works either.......

What annoys me are the obvious photos from catalogs or other websites. People being lazy and just uploading a random pic. More often than not it's irrelevant and/or generates low scores anyway. I saw a photo of a Baby Phat watch for the watch contest. That completely beats the point of the contest. It seems that most pics get low scores despite that their great, as if people have friends purposefully vote everyone down. And do not even get me started on the ass or panty shots. I'm not easily offended and I do admire a lady's style but...for lack of a better word, I'm sorry...the trashy pics are irritating. Go for cheesecake pin-up or at least show a little class. But that's just me.

I get irritated easily by some of the submissions and do not even bother entering. After all my photo will probably get voted down. I think it's great that people put effort into their photos and those who do I give you high ratings. Those are the folks who deserve a chance. Maybe I'm just picking at nothing and am being overly cynical. After all it's a fun site and I'm easily addicted to Style Spotter.

No, I completely feel you on all of your points. I thought it was pretty clear what short of photo should be entered for the AK contest, but clearly I give others too much credit. Yes, there is a picture of you. Very good. I could do the same.

And voting down on purpose is obviously a constant in the contests. If not, explain how my entry in a contest is by FAR the lowest rated picture I've uploaded to the site. I'm not saying I'm so amazing I couldn't possiblybe rated that way, but I did make an effort to comply with the guidelines and I know it's not so terrible, either. I'm sure anyone else who has entered has the same experience.

But...like you said...it's a fun site and I'm addicted, too, so I'll probably continue to look even though it grates my nerves. :)

I don't know about that, but to answer your question about the denim contest, dazzlin, they extended it until January because of the great "response." Actually since there original deadline passed only like 20 more people have entered. There was almost 200 when they extended it. Maybe they have some other reason, but personally I will be over it by that time...hahaha.

i noticed that they reached out to a lot of fashion bloggers to invite them to participate about a week or so before the nov. 4th deadline (a lot of the blogs i read mentioned lucky contacted them) i think that contest was probably an attempt to get new lucky style spotter members on board and since it worked- they want to see how much more of a response they can get by extending it further....

Oho...I see how it is. They don't want to feature the amateurs in their magazine. Hahaha...just kidding. More participation is good all around!

hahahaha, unfortunately i have to wear suits so much for work your look fit right in perfectly with what i have to see daily- but yeah, i see why it's not what you want to be wearing :) hubby must be happy you won't be digging in his closet too!

The ironic thing is...not so long ago I started a topic asking if your other half dressed as well as you..my complaint is how shabby he normally looks. Hahaha. That is the one and only button up he owns, and I bought him the bag because he was trying to stuff his laptop into an horribly old, horribly small briefcase.

Suits...bleh. I work as a server so I don't really have a dress code anywhere. What do you do, if you don't mind me asking?

i'm graduating from law school this year- i've worked in court in a judge's chambers, at a super stuffy law firm, and other mostly boring things- but right now i'm in the legal department at an american design company-- so it's much much more my speed-- but that doesn't keep the suits from forcing themselves on me! pinstripes, patent, and tweed are what keep me going!
