This is such a cute dress in a great color, lovely light cool cloth. It hits at the knees. I just am not sure how to work with it!! I have tried a belt and it either makes my chest look weird, when it is right under it, or makes the dress too blousy. Plain, like this, just looks too schlumpy! I only had myself and my phone to take the pic. :)

I'm not sure about extending them...I guess I can't really picture what that would look like, but I think it would look weird to have pleats running down your chest. I think what COULD be done would be to take it in at the waist all around, and then maybe add some pleating to the skirt. I am picturing sort of a 50's style where the waist is fitted, and then the skirt is fuller. I am sure a seamstress could work with it. It would require a lot of work and essentially cutting the dress at the waist. It may be a bit more complicated than what you wanted to do...but I think it would look cute!

Yeah, I was thinking of extending the pleats, maybe just in front, they are in the back too. I think if I am very careful I can do it myself.

There's definitely a LOT of volume that you don't need. I like the buttons and the pleating at the chest. You should take it to a good seamstress and see if there would be a way to take it in at the waist to make it more shapely.
