Stylish & Proffessional

Dressing for the office can be quite a challenge. It’s easy to start dressing too casual or to get stuck in a rut. But dressing professionally does not have to mean sacrificing style! All you need is a little bit of imagination. See below for my tips.

Tip #1: Add Color!
Instead of wearing trousers with a button down shirt add a fun bright top! See how I added this silky ruffled blouse to my basic black pants – it’s fun, but still office appropriate.

Tip #2: Bring Your Dress Into Daytime!
We all have great dresses that are perfect for weekends and nights but putting just your typical cardigan and a belt over it can make them work appropriate. Add tights and pumps and nobody will know that it’s the same dress you wore on a date the night before!

Tip #3: Blazers Are a Work Wardrobe Staple!
Blazers are always great for work and you don’t need to stick with the typical pant suit. Pair your blazer with some of your more casual pieces to easily dress them up.

Tip #4: Keep Your Toes Covered!
My final tip for staying work appropriate is closed toe shoes. The biggest distraction to office attire can be toes popping out. Closed toe shoes will always be the right choice when walking into any meeting.

Please share some of your tips. How do you stay fashionable at your office?

Great tips! I especially appreciate the closed toe shoe tip. Most work places now have that as a guideline (the ones that don't, should...unless you work on a beach!). I do have to add that at many places that are more professional (like mine, boring) won't allow that much cleavage showing, and won't allow sleeveless tops in the colder months (if at all). So the first step to achieving great style at work is to make sure you look into the dress code!
