I was super excited to attend SCOTLAND RE:DESIGNED an event in meatpacking which housed a ton of established and up-and-coming designers from Scotland. I found a few in particular that caught my eye and I wanted to share a favorite piece form each.

The first, is Bebaroque, which makes decorative hosiery and bodywear. I adore this pale pink body suit encrusted with the baubles feminine dreams are made of. They carry the same design in a mini dress and in other colors. They also make sheer stockings and socks with elaborate designs, hand embroidery and jewels.

Next, Caerlee, a brand made in Scotland utilizing lots of cashmere and intarsia runs the oldest continually operating textile mill in the country and beyond its own lab

A few weeks ago, in the midst of NYFW i attended Nolcha Fashion Week, which is a series of runway shows dedicated to showcasing independent designers. I was most excited to see Danilo Gabrielli’s F/W 2012 collection, as I so loved his S/S 2012 collection I saw at last season’s Nolcha. This time, the collection was so classic and accessible, leading with strong shapes and just the right amount of feminine frill.

“I was born into the fashion world” says Seckin Ilker, Turkish Designer who is presenting her works from Turkey all the way to Nolcha Fashion Week in New York. The fashion genes passed down from Father to Daughter have now become international. Appearing will be her new Fall/ Winter 2012 Collection featuring a romantic color palette, as well as her bridal extension “Silhouette Bride”, which includes contemporary pieces of wedding dresses and evening dresses. I live to layer. I always wear a tee or tank under everything for a smoother look and because I always like to be prepared for changes in temperature. While this makes doing laundry a little more laborious, it’s part of my fashion philosophy.
